We are very fortunate to have awesome horses, and even more blessed to have our very good friends Kayla and Travis Dalrymple running our equestrian service. If you are interested in horseback riding, you can call Kayla directly at 814.688.7268
We have countless trails throughout the property. We recently created one main trail. It is 1.5 miles long. It loops around the horse corals, through the woods, across the base of the hillside, around the lake and back to the Inn. When weather permits, it was constructed to be suitable for walking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, running, and biking.
There is an abundance of water nearby and you can fishing just about any time you want to. We have a number of guides that we work with. Red Childress can be reached at 814-688-2309. Red is great if you are looking to fish the Alleghany River http://www.alleghenyguideservice.com/. He is your best bet if you are looking to catch an elusive musky and have a big day on small mouth bass. If you are looking to fly fish for trout, you will find Mike Laskowski to be a great resource. He can be reached at 814.827.3095 http://www.oilcreekoutfitters.com/
You can fish the small lake on the Inn's property. It is open to guests only. The lake is primarly reserved for swimming, therefore we highly regulate it. Do not fish when others are swimming. It is catch and release. Only single, barbless hooks are permitted. Also, it is extremely important to note that there is a liner in the lake. Therefore, do not fish with weights or heavy lures. Bottom fishing can result in a tear to the liner. If the liner tears, the water will drain and which will result in a significant expense to that fisherman.
On a hot summer day, you might consider renting a boat and spend the afternoon cruising the waters of the Kinzua Reservoir http://www.kinzuamarina.com/rentals.htm. Or if you'd like to get a little closer to the water, you can take a canoe trip down the Allegheny with Allegheny Outfitters http://www.alleghenyoutfitters.com/
We also have a canoe on the property for guest use on the lake.
There are quite a few courses near the Inn. Two guest favorites are North Hills http://www.northhillsgolf.com/ and Jackson Valley. http://www.golflink.com/golf-courses/course.aspx?course=957445
