Welcome to the Galloping Inn

Welcome to the Galloping Inn, a country getaway located in the heart of beautiful historic Northwestern Pennsylvania on Scenic Route 6. We offer the charm of a Bed and Breakfast but with much more space and privacy. The house is available for executive retreats, and families and friends gathering.

The Galloping Inn is a historic farmhouse built in approximately 1862 by Jared Boardman. Mr. Boardman acquired the property from Eli Wyman in 1843. Much of the original structure remains. The location has a very rich history. When we restored it, we did so with an eye for preservation, style and modern comfort.

Today, the great room features a large stone fireplace to warm up by after a day outdoors. There's also a solid cherry wood bar…the perfect place to enjoy an evening cocktail (bring your own) and recap the day's events. The kitchen is beautiful, with a spacious design providing plenty of room for you to cook a big meal. (We do not offer catering.)

There are a total of five, very comfortable bedrooms in the farmhouse and cabin. The base package is for the farmhouse which includes three bedrooms. You can choose to add the fourth bedroom and/or the cabin to the base package. Use of the Galloping Inn is available exclusively to one group at a time.

Though it may be an old farmhouse, we have Dish Network at the property and a entertainment area upstairs which serves as great place to wind down – especially good for kids.

The Galloping Inn is located on a horse farm with access to over 100 private acres.

While staying at the property, you can hike the trails or traverse them on horseback. We offer trail riding from spring through fall. In winter, guests can enjoy cross country skiing and snow-shoeing.

The grounds span private rolling hills, brooks and forests. Trails cut through hillsides, giant boulder fields, pines, cherry trees and birch stands. Wildlife is abundant, as we do not hunt on the grounds. It is not rare to see wild turkey, bald eagles, deer, grouse, porcupine, raccoons, red fox, coyote and even the occasional black bear.

There are two large decks off the back of the house where you can take in the evening sun. And the yard is large enough for your choice of outdoor games.

If you feel like doing some exploring, there are lots of things to do nearby. Within a 30 minute drive you can rent boats and cruise the waters of the Allegheny Reservoir, visit the charm of Chautauqua, enjoy golfing the undulated hills of many great courses including Peek'n Peak. You can also fish, hunt, canoe, ski, hike, bike, gamble at nearby casinos or do just about anything you like to do outdoors. Some just like to explore the nearby historic towns such as Findley Lake, Sugar Grove, or Warren - charming Americana at its best.

Feel free to call us if you'd like to know more about the place.

We offer the property for private rentals all year round.
